(4 min read) A friend I spoke to recently asked me if I had a vision of what I wanted 5, 10 or even 15 years from now. 5, 10 or 15 years? That’s a long time away. I dissed at his question, telling him that I could jolly well be dead by then. So why plan for something that may not even come true? His reply was simple but purposeful, ”well, I could be dead 10 hours from now.” In that moment, I understood what he was trying to tell me - envisioning what we want makes that life real. And it also allows us to take clear actions towards it. We are able to set specific goals and that gives us focus. It gives commitment to the dream. I was intrigued by his question. I seriously started asking myself what the vision of my dream life is.

When I moved to Argentina, I thought I would live in Buenos Aires for a month. Well, I ended up living here for a year. Indeed, the city is beginning to feel like second home to me. I have found my little nook of comfort, and it feels nice to be in a routine of sorts. The sense of familiarity is assuring. It would be great if I am looking to settle, but the thing is, I am not. |
